Pearl+ is a creation of Janet Jay/Studio J in Portland, Oregon. Studio J, founded by John and Janet Jay is a creative studio specializing in lifestyle design from interiors, graphics to product development. Influenced by her Grandmother from China, who originally shared the benefits from pearl, Janet Jay merged this personal inspiration with her experience in international beauty product development.

Pearl+ Luxury Soaps launched in 2008 in the rooms of the highly influential Ace Hotel in Portland, where they are also available at retail. In Spring 2009, Pearl+ will premiere in New York City exclusively at the new Ace Hotel in Manhattan(retail only).

Studio J was founded by the creative team of John and Janet Jay. He is the Global Executive Creative Director and Partner of Wieden+Kennedy in Portland, Oregon. Jay was once named by I.D. Magazine as one of “Forty Most Influential in Design” and previously served as Creative Director for Bloomingdale’s in New York.

Janet Jay was Director of Marketing and Product Development for Diane Von Furstenberg and Manager of International Product Development at Estee Lauder. She also served as product consultant for beauty firms in the U.S. while living in Tokyo, Japan.

Recent products include the development of the Macleay View Home; PING, a new restaurant concept in Portland’s Old Town/Chinatown and a Japanese inspired floating home. In 2009, Studio J will host a series of salons with influential creators, produce art exhibitions and books, and continue to develop new consumer product concepts and designs.
